Nestled in the mountains of Tehama, California, the home New Horizons overlooks the beautiful Monterey Bay. Following a symmetrical axis through a central courtyard into a light-filled great room, large glass windows frame the horizon and bring the landscape into the home.

EMA collaborated closely with the owners to craft a dynamic and intentional interior experience. Carefully articulated ceiling forms define the spaces below while serving as an integrated framework for lighting design and expression. Subtle shifts in the wall planes create moments of pause and transition, establishing thresholds of circulation while emphasizing focal points and framed visual terminations.
