SAND & SEA

Sand & Sea is a stone monolith residence tucked into a private cul-de-sac next to the ocean in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Projecting glass volumes frame expansive views, contrasting solid mass with transparency, while a raised roof with clerestory windows fills the home with ambient light. A sunken courtyard provides a private retreat for the bedroom spaces, and a roof deck opens north toward Pebble Beach. The interiors, curated by the owner and local artist René Romero Schuler, layer art and materiality to create a deeply personal expression of place.
